Kuo Yu-ping’s artwork “Sun-yat sen Freeway” is shortlisted for2015 Taipei Arts Award.

In SunYat-sen Freeway exhibition, Kuo Yu-ping created interlinking works —including a video, installations pieces, and a set of paintings — inspired bythe imagery of one freeway and one family. Kuo peers out from a historicalpoint of view and see, through a nation’s imagination, the effects of cold warsand modernization. Kuo wishes to refine these specific historical situationsthrough the path of my own politics. Kuo seeks ways of molding our subjectiveexperiences, our patterns of desire, and even the gloom politics of modernlife.
